I like the last picture the best, the others look grainy. What are you using for settings?

Don't want to speak for the OP...but here I go. LOL

The last one was apprently shot during the warm ups, which typically start an hour before the game (notice no pads.)

The OP is pushing his/her equipment to the edge:

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i (external link) Exposure 0.002 sec (1/500) Aperture f/5.6 Focal Length 220 mm ISO Speed 3200

AlthoughI'm thinking some more grain can be removed with out losing too much skin tone.

1. Huge motion blur. The kicker's foot is almost invisible from the blur. Cropped waaayyy too loose and has a very distracting background.

2. Nice expression on the player. Crop away the right quarter and bottom 20% of the image.

3. Nice action but it needs a face.

4. Good action and has a face. Crop away some of the right side (just to the right of the 20 perhaps) to make it tighter.

5 & 6. Shoot tight, crop tighter.

Try some shots in portrait rather than landscape orientation. Friday night football is tough if your lens won't open wider than 5.6. You will need an f/2.8 lens or start shooting with a flash. The days are getting shorter--fast. A large aperture lens means faster shutter speeds and/or lower ISO, better background blur, and more light to assist in low light focus.
