Taking some advice I found here I am thinking about making the following my lens equipment:

17-40L
50 1.4
85 1.8
135L
70-200L F4 non IS.

I mostly do portriats and a few weddings. For the weddings I rent a few extras (24-70, etc)

I don't have the 17-40 or 135l yet (maybe tomorrow), should I consider anything else?

The 24-105 seems like it'd be a no-brainer for weddings.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

If you get the 135 I dont think you will use the 85 1.8 that much because it is an awesome lens.

If you prefer primes dont get the 24-105 and do yourself a favour and rent a 35mm 1.4!

I think I'd sell the 85/1.8 and skip the 135L and use that money to upgrade the 70-200/4L to one of the f/2.8 versions. I realize that all three (85/1.8, 135L and 70-200/4) all together don't quite add up to the 70-200/2.8 IS II on cost, but if you can afford it then you would find it excellent. If not, the other 70-200/2.8 versions are also very nice. Finally, I think you will discover that IS is a desireable feature on a 70-200 for weddings.

Next priority would be a 24-70 as you surmised, but I think you will want to keep the 50/1.4 and the 17-40 is a long way cost wise from funding the 24-70.
