Havnt posted any images on POTN before but am reasonably happy with these. Not perfect as in the lens flare in the landscape version. Not sure which is better portrait or LS. Maybe needs a tighter crop. Thanks.

Ohh the 1989 stuff was shot on a Nikkormat. Most of the recent digital is on a Canon 450D

I think those came out pretty decent, and I do like your storefront shot and your train tunnel shot quite a lot -- good light collected there!

As to the flare showing in those two shots, there is always one question to be asked/answered: do you have a UV/"protective" filter on your lens? If so you should know that those things are bad for flare. I don't use 'em, but if I did it would only be under conditions that could damage my lens. For normal wear and tear I use lens hoods that can get knocked around.

So, the next time you are doing this type of shooting -- light sources coming from the side and such, take off the filter! Experiment with on/off if you wish, but do your critical shots withouth the filter@

Thanks Tony. Sorry about delayed response.
I am a bit too scared to take the filters off. But might give it a go if I re try the image of the pine and the bus shelter. The other thing I need to play around with is the white balance, the street lights are a very strong yellow.
Nice images on your PBase. I like the Mt Hood images. Very different from Australia.
Our mountains are not as big ones in America. A lot older and flatter.
The colours in your images seem so green and bright as well.
The greens in foliage here are more olive than green.
