Greater Shearwaters

While visting Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick on the Bay of Fundy last month was I able to capture some reasonable images of Greater Shearwaters. The birds generally take off as boats approach.

These were all photographed handheld with the 7D & Sigma 50-500mm.

Excellent to see these Stephen, a bird Ive only seen through a scope very distantly. They cross the Atlantic and can be seen off the south coast of the UK in August, but rarely wander up to the north east coast where i live. Great set.

Beautiful "runners" & "fliers" Stephen :)... always enjoy seeing species I never have observed... excellent series.
