Hi Farlet. We're gonna bbq at the in-laws tomorrow. :)

Nice Julian. Seems like a good time to bbq during the long weekend. Are the in-laws nearby... as in NC also? I'm sure they'll be excited to see your daughter. ;)

here's the problem... the Lensfoot is a bit too close to the grip... just about half inch clearance... so now I really really need to rotate the lens foot if I wanna use the grip or else it would pinch against my fingers

^I see how it could be a problem. The standard foot plate for your 70-200 has the capability to slide to give you clearance. You can't slide it at all?

You can see here that my tripod foot plate is all the way forward. No problems with getting my fingers inbetween that area.

ohhh I can but I would have liked the clearance to be a bit wider so that when the lens foot is at its normal place I can still hold the battery grip comfortably :D

QUOTED IMAGE

yeah I can see that... I just did not realize that the RRS lens foot was longer by almost half inch towards the back hehe

^If you slide the plate forward, you should have no problems with balance on your ball head.
