I've created a custom slide show in Lightroom 3 and I'd like to establish that as the default so that I don't have to go into the slideshow module to select it every time I begin a new project.

LR remembers the selected slideshow for that project and will keep it selected for any other project I open but if I quit LR and then open it and go to a project that has never played a slideshow, it comes up as the default LR slideshow.

I see that it's impossible to save over the Default and I can't see a way to apply my slideshow as a default.

Is this feature really not available?

If it is, I've not yet found it.
I've tried the same for web galleries, including removing all default installed LR galleries, and renaming my preset to "Default". That didn't work either (stil default a 3x3 grid IIRC).

Might work for slideshows however, never tried. If you want to give it a try: Look here. http://www.pixiq.com …lightroom-develop-presets (external link)

Hmm, I don't mess with slideshows, so can't say -- have you checked with dedicated Lightroom forums at, say, Adobe or LightroomQueen.com?

Yes, I have. Victoria has confirmed that there is no way to set a default slideshow.

Well, OK, that's useful info! Maybe you could submit a feature request in one of the Adobe/LR forums!
