Ugh. I'm so disappointed. I've owned this camera for just over a year, and it has a little over 10,000 clicks on it. Yesterday afternoon, while taking a few snaps of my kiddos, it just *died.* Err 99. Shut it off. Removed lens, removed battery, allowed camera to sit for several minutes. Cleaned contacts for both the lens and the battery. Removed small back-up battery (and even inserted a new one). Booted the camera with freshly charged battery. Put lens on. Pushed shutter button - ERR 99. I spent all evening last night researching and trying absolutely every single fix that I could find hoping that the NEXT one I find would be the answer. Nope. ERR 99 wins.
Sickening. That camera is my baby. Without it, I am empty! Don't you judge me.
Putting in a call to Canon tomorrow. Suspecting the shutter will be replaced. I just vomited in my wallet in hopes that will lesson the blow of paying Canon.
