She's an umpire. The field didn't have stadium lights so I attempted to simulate it with strobes.

Also, batter would realistically not be that close to the action in a real game with a play at the plate like that. 7D, 50D, EFS 17-85mm IS, 24-70mm f/2.8L, 50mm f/1.2L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, 2X Extender III, Calumet Genesis 400, Speedlite 430EX, Pocket Wizards

I even had a leaf blower to kick up dust but for reasons I won't mention we couldn't use it. It bugged the crap out of me at first but the more I look at it the more I like it because the basic idea of a girl umpiring in a dress and heels is so absurd that a lack of full reality in the shot doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Just relaying what I see and what I don't see in this photo concept. It looks more like a model shoot concept because the girl looks so very out of place in this image how she's dressed and positioned/posing.

I think I have to learn some baseball basics ![]() Hahaha yeah Sydney is the girl. I think they're all seniors but Sydney was my client. The other fellas are her friends and helped us out. She's an actual legitimate umpire for baseball games, and it's extremely rare for a girl to be an umpire. We decided to play that up with the contrast of the dress and heels. It's real femininity in a masculine role....as opposed to a masculine woman in a male role. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here
