I read about these awhile ago, I don't currently have any sort of NAS setup at all. Seems like a cheap enough solution its worth a try.

It's not that is a different model. This is the wifi model.

I have one. It works pretty well. Very slow initially because it creates thumbnails and catalolgs metadata, so depending on how many media files you have don't expect it to work well for a couple weeks. It took mine a month to sort through thousands of pictures and 400 Gig of video files. Once that was done it runs pretty smooth.
