I hope someone goes, or it will be one and done for Baltimore.

Probably going on Friday, Saturday is a definite. No media pass as my outlet had too many requests (I don't know anyone else that shoots ALMS or IndyCar stuff from my outlet, so I'm kinda peeved about that).

If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem.

I'll update this tomorrow if I learn any more but, in a nutshell, there is a rumor that the Baltimore Grand Prix approved far more photography credentials than they have room for and that most people will NOT receive a photo vest permitting access to restricted areas such as photo holes.
The person who put their name on your confirmation letter no longer works for the BGP and calls and emails to the BGP offices, the PR firm and the communications director go un-returned. The letter also said that you would be receiving additional information via email. I didn't receive any additional info, did you?
I have a $600 hotel investment plus travel, food, etc as does everyone else in this boat and will be pretty pissed off if this rumor is true. Stay tuned...

In 2 solid days of trying to get any information out of the race organizers I have absolutely nothing but frustration and anger to report. Not one telephone call or reply to email except one from the PR firm to say thanks for bringing this to our attention and your concerns will be addressed promptly. Unbelievable.

That's how media goes sometimes. I've dealt with this kind of thing over and over again from many different events. You show up on time and you think it's smooth sailing, then as soon as you go to will-call, BAM cluster f**k!!

I've been doing this for 25 years and never had one like this. I can hardly wait to walk into the Marriott tomorrow afternoon. If the rumor is true there will be headline news stories.

After two full days of trying to get an answer out of them I just received this:

"I checked with the gentleman overseeing photographers for the race, and yes, photo vests are limited race coverage."

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Can it REALLY be this difficult?

Well that really sucks!! This has actually happened to me before... last year at a drift event. Limited vests and they let too many media people in. They had us out on the track in "shifts". It was a pain in the ass too, because it was an actual competition which meant I had to cover the whole thing start to finish.

But this... this is just a huge bummer.
