Just got my senior nifty (50mm 1.8 MKI, metal mount) in the mail today. :)
I love it, but, the AF sounds like a wind up toy.

Aside from that, I'm glad I bought it. :D

Is that the f/1.8 mark 1? I had two of those and kinda wish I had kept one. I have the 50 f/1.4 but it's probably not worth the $150-250 price difference over the f/1.8 mark 1.

Yes it is.
I forgot to put the name in the first post. Heh.

I like the 1.4 as well, but it's not in my budget and, like you said, probably not worth it.

I found one on CL for cheap, and then when the seller realized I knew what I was talking about he pulled the ad and ignored me.

FRAUD.

KEH.com has them, but they go for 250. Kind of pricey, but they include a 6-month warranty.

Thank you. bw!

I actually almost got scammed on one here on POTN.
The guy was selling it for $110.50 and I took the bait. :o

Got my money back though after a handful of other members reported him for fraud.

$250 is crazy...here's one hidden in an ebay auction asking $160 +$15 shipping...but he's taking best offers...i bet if you offered $130 he'd take it...maybe less...he clearly doesn't realize the lens will work on his DSLR(assuming he bought canon)

I had three of them, all bought brand new when they came out (was a young teenager at the time). Since sold two on ebay UK for silly money, over four or five times what I paid for them (iirc).
