we all remember this mess:
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1069013

now have a complete resolution!
Just left the lawyer's office, where the lawyer and I met the couple and their fathers.

1) signed agreement between the couple and I that clears them of all monies owing (aka they now owe me nothing) and that they are not entitled to any pictures I may have in my possession. I'm also free to sell these pictures as I see fit...

2) HIS father purchased all pictures. Every single one. Unedited. Untouched. No watermarks or anything. Full rights to do as they please. No follow-up asking for edits. I keep promotional rights (i.e. use for website, etc..)

Huge $$$. Never seen so many bills together...

Groom's father really hammered his son at that meeting. In front of his bride and her father. You name it, he used it to describe the shame he has brought him. Repeatedly.
She cried a few times, I think she knew she deserved some of that hammering, I suspect the groom took all the blame in the fathers' eyes.

So now $$ is in the account, pictures have been handed over to the father via 2 USB drives (aka 2 copies of everything)

This started over the weekend. Groom's father has been in contact with us, threw a large number, and the lawyer threw one back, and that was accepted. All the details came together earlier today, and we all agreed to meet. And all is now over. Done.

Well, GREAT for you!!!
Kudos to the groom's father. He sounds like the only honorable person in this entire debacle.
Really happy that you finally can put this behind you. :)

Great for you! Glad it all worked out. I, for one, enjoyed your first thread and all the updates. It was definitely an interesting scenerio of how things can go. I would have paid for a seat at that lawyer's meeting. I know it's your personal business, but the "Huge$$$"...did you wind up recouping ALL your loses and then some?

Anyway, thanks for finishing this story up for us. I don't do weddings (yet) but I can put this down as "things that can happen" ;)

I do have 2 new problems now....

1) Wife is 'upset' I updated you guys before I updated her... she knew something was happening, pretty much knew something was on-going on this all week... but I kept it quiet because I still wasn't convinced it would ever get resolved. I got home, she was on the phone (I think with her mo) so I updated you guys first, then told her...

2) She now has plans for some of that $$... Something about Mickey Mouse, New Years, and then I tuned her out....

He said a ton, mostly all in Vietnamese (I assume). A couple of the times, his words prompted some of her tears, and some sighs from his son-in-law. But I have no clue as to what he said.

Same guy that spoke the immortal "PHOTOMAN. PICTURES. NOW!"
I found a lot of respect for him in the last couple of days. He really wanted to clean up this mess, and get some pictures to show for this wedding.

Congrats! I can't believe that it all worked out so much better than we all expected... Who'd have thought?

Awesome that it got resolved! And it doesn't sound like the blame was put on you at all which means this shouldn't affect your future which is awesome. I'm sure you can't reveal the sum... but I'm intrigued. Are we talking about 3 days in Disneyland or two weeks at Disney World kind of money?

Glad to see all was worked out :)

Imagine what kind of a mess it would have been if you deleted all the photos like you had wanted to!
I kinda feel bad for the couple... not a good way to start their life together and the constant reminder of the debacle every time they look at their photos...

My wife and I had been tossing the idea of going to Holland for 2 weeks next summer. And we tossed that idea around last year too, and the year before.
Now it's a very real possibility...

If we did the California Disney, it would have to be during the summer - so many baseball parks to visit ;)
