I'm going on a short business trip in October to Europe and thought I would stop for a few days to shoot the beautiful city of Prague. I think I may hire a guide for a short tour one day but if anyone is local that would want to meetup to shoot that would be great.
I have never been to this city so shooting in areas only familiar to locals may be fun.
Anyone?

You can also focus on city center, walk, and bring your camera. I spent 10 days there. Used public transportation and saw a lot. One of the best cities for architecture.

I was there 5 years ago and the only tip I can give is if you want to get a decent photo of the Charles Bridge, make sure you get up very early or stay up very late! Often it's packed with tourists so it was very difficult to photograph it. The castle on the hill over looking the city is worth a visit (trams go up there every 15min or so I think), as is the Dancing House designed by Frank Gehry, and the astronomical clock in the old town square. Have a good trip - I really enjoyed it when I went there.

I was just there a few weeks ago (external link). Relatively easy to get around. I only had a day and a half and so stayed mostly in the central area. But some key spots are: Charles Bridge, Old Town Square (go up the Tower), Prague Castle (go up the Tower & inside the Cathedral), Petrin Tower (go up to the top).

It is useful to get out early before the crowds get there. The Castle is very pretty and uncrowded at night as well.

For example, this was the Castle a little after 8am:

Thanks, nice images! I plan on starting my days very early to avoind crowds. I will have 3 full days there so I have all the main sights checked to see. I was kind of hoping there would be someone in this forum who lives in Prague so that I could get to less touristy areas. Either way, I'm sure I will love it there!
