Thanks for making this a great week of images. After spending some time with each image I have my top 4 list to present. I would like to add a few comments for all images as feedback will give you a little idea what is running through my head in order to make the choices I did.

1st - Vintage Scene - airfrousmc
2nd - 50's Bel Air -kbColorado
3rd - Hanibal Police Station - KevanG9
HM - Cotton Weaver - vasbyt

1st Not the most vintage of the group but I just get lost in these kind of scenes. It's a special world that can only exist in B/W in the desert on the prairie. Note the incredible textures in the clouds, trees, shrubs. stucco, wood, dirt. A virtual treasure trove of interesting visual macro and micro elements that come together under a palette of amazing tone. My favorite of the lot.

2nd Nothing like Americana to speak of vintage and the 50's were an amazing era. Great shot, visual tone, and presentation. The frame speaks classic car.

3rd The print tone, detail, and magic in this mysterious subject really keeps me interested in a good look around. The brick texture is amazing. 3D. The presentation is a little front on and simple but never the less this is a great image. Love to see some one in black out front. The print tone is a great palette.

HM This is a spectacular example of vintage machinery. I wish you had cropped the right side to get rid of the annoying white band. It's not supporting the image. Aside from this I think you could work with this subject for a while and produce a nice portfolio of images.

Maureen the vintage clothing is very interesting. My great great grandmother migrated from Derry, Ireland at 12. She was probably wearing something very close to that.
teekay I love the trolley car hate the light. I wish the car could been seen in better light and perhaps a better setting. That said this is a great shot of a piece of transportation history.
Garry that is a beautiful Bel Air. Wish it was brighter. This is the way the light really was however I prefer not having to strain in the shadows to see a gorgeous sight.
Jason that's a great bike and jacket. The rest of the scene is a tad disappointing visually but natural to the moment.
megapixel I love the processing in this print. Interesting subject too. Unfortunately the greatest point of interest is covered with a trademark. No worries your image is protected and identified.
Justinryan there isn't enough information to know what this is outside of the graphic nature of the sign and that isn't enough to convey what I am looking at. Something to keep in mind however there is no law that says someone has to know what they are looking at.
WaFp I like the subject and the processing is adding some interest however I think a portion of the top of the frame is taking away from the bicycle which is interesting.
supergrump Wish the angle produced a more interesting perspective. The frame is split and the subject is perpendicular to the camera. I think you can work with some cropping if you wish.
aponi06 Looks like a fun ride but the photograph is not all that interesting graphically. Everything of interest seems to be centered towards the middle of the frame. Not to complain though because it's your eye and art. Have fun.
T3 Heavy Shop Definitely some vintage going on. I wish the light were more natural. The flash is a bit harsh but the framing and composition are good.

All right then. Duty over. On with the next parade.

Great shot airfrogusmc, and some real nice images everyone.
I was just wondering when Canon bought out Hasselblad

Technically it is a Canon contest and I will let Maureen make a call on that.

Congrats to Allen, kb & Kevan!! Why is it that I always find something cool to fit the topic after that fact?? Next time....

Joe, I doubt your grandmother wore those kind of clothes over on her immigration trip... they are wedding and baptismal clothing :) That whole Ellis island museum is a treasure trove of vintage though and a very interesting way to spend an afternoon. BTW, all of my maternal grandparents immigrated from Ireland as well. :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

I have withdrawn my entry Joe..

I thought we let any camera in this one especially a non-advanced, totally manual, film camera. Surely that should be seen as a disadvantage:p. I seem to remember some P&S winning this and maybe a Nikon and a film camera or two in the past since there is no money or prize but hey not to worry, my submission has been withdrawn :D

So congrats should go to kbcolorado

Thanks Joe for the placing. Terrific photos all.

I totally agree with your comments about my photo being a bit flat-faced. Ahh..the struggles traveling with a bunch of family who don't appreciate us spending more time at a photographic scene. Nope, had to make this one quick.

Folks, if you ever get the opportunity to drive around the St. Louis MO area, think about taking a drive up north along the Mississippi along routes 79 and 61 and the back roads in between up to Hannibal. Full of beautiful scenery of all kinds. I have some other shots I'll hold onto for future challenges. Hannibal itself is sort of a sad town, on hard times, but the drive up to it was really enjoyable.

Congratulations to kbColorado - sepia was a great choice!

jetcode...I love the trolley car hate the light. I wish the car could been seen in better light and perhaps a better setting.....

Actually, I could have taken the shot in various places but deliberately chose that tree background and in sunshine since it emphasized the red colour! Would shade have been your choice?
