Congratulations to kbColorado - sepia was a great choice!

Actually, I could have taken the shot in various places but deliberately chose that tree background and in sunshine since it emphasized the red colour! Would shade have been your choice?

I'm really not sure teekay. I think if I were to shoot this subject I would likely generate 50-100 images in a variety of compositions and cherry pick. But that's how I shoot. Your mileage will vary.

I have withdrawn my entry Joe..

I thought we let any camera in this one especially a non-advanced, totally manual, film camera. Surely that should be seen as a disadvantage:p. I seem to remember some P&S winning this and maybe a Nikon and a film camera or two in the past since there is no money or prize but hey not to worry, my submission has been withdrawn :D

So congrats should go to kbcolorado

The title of the competition starts with "Canon" and this is sort of a Canon bastion kind of forum. I should have noticed but I tend to miss these kind of things. Not worry the new HM is everyone else because I like them all!!!! It's not easy choosing one image over another in these contests.

That may be but Maureen is a moderator so technically it's her call. I have been warned about not having the title right and LMSYS has a time restriction so there is some enforcement going on and someone opened the door with the comparison so it doesn't really matter to me your image was my first choice anyway though there was some good competition for that too.

Really this stuff is just for fun and getting to look at other folks work anyway. No big deal to me. Just we have let others besides Canons join the fun in the past, that was all I was saying.

If I had caught that, Allen, I would have jumped in sooner. Technically, it is a Canon requirement in the title and we do like everyone to have fun here but there are lots of opportunities for folks who are shooting other brands. I think a canon challenge should be Canon.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
