Hey all --

I kept getting this nagging 'quick, go to that one spot you always wanted to go to and shoot' feeling, so I did. I came back with ~50 images, and decided to work with this one tonite.

First, the (resized) SOOC. No adjustments at all except for resize down to 1200 on the long side and my watermark..

And this is what I ended up with after a few minutes in LR.

I guess I'm looking for critiques in two ways -- firstly, the quality of the shot SOOC (knowing that my intention was to get an image like the one I produced, I wasn't exactly looking for a 'perfect exposure' - whatever that is), and secondly, if I succeeded/failed/both/neither with the edits.

I think you did a good job taking the picture and in the edit. Any criticisms can only be subjective.

wow, what is it you did in LR that took a few minutes? My personal preference is that the image is too dark, and unbalanced. There is a open space in the top right corner that distracts from the sunset.
