WFT and EOS Utility

I am struggling to set up a FTP connection using a 5DMkII, the WFT unit and a PC running Windows 7. I've posted a separate thread on those problems.

I've had more success using the EOS Utility with one hiccup:
I like to shoot in RAW - it gives be a better results in post processing.

The EOS Utility can be set to not transfer RAW files (which take a long time to make the trip from the camera to the computer) when shooting remotely ie firing the camera from the computer.

But when I fire shoot from the camera I can't seem to stop it transferring the RAW image.

The whole reason I would like to use this setup is to check exposure, focus etc on a larger screen than the back of the camera - it needs to be instant (or nearly).

Is there some other way other than to shoot in .jpeg only?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers
Bill

I'm late to the party but i've written a comprehensive guide on how to set up a wfte4 in ftp mode in windows 7 here (external link).

You need to connect in ftp transfer mode and set the wft E4 to only transfer jpg's

Hope this helps

Late would be an understatement. You might want to PM him if you really want him to see it- but I don't think he has posted anytime recently...
