Looks like you busted out the 300? Yes, the 300 is my favorite volleyball lens (depending on the venue). At high schools with a balcony or an arena, I love the shot where I get a largely unobstructed view of the face of the spiker. It also can give a full face shot of the back line returner. This venue had weak lighting so I had to shoot at ISO 6400 and because the walls were a fairly dark blue, the white balance and exposure changed as I got closer to the side wall. Light cycling was also an issue. The aux gym gave me opportunities to move around the floor but the backgrounds were awful. Drat. This could have been a nice shot with a better background. (and better light) . _______________ _______________ Better light means better image quality. My daughter's high school is brand new and has very good ambient light so I won't have to use strobes. You can see the better quality light in these images from a scrimmage at the new school: A. . B. . Better light = better images. Phil www.zivnuska.zenfolio.com/blog
