you just missed the ball in #6 but other than that great set of action shots.

i think you did a great job getting the faces of the players that were the focus of each shot. i love action shots but they are so much better if you can see the players in the action rather than their backs. nice job

These are fantastic. I love your desire to change locations and shoot from many angles. What is your setup? Looks like you busted out the 300?

Yes, the 300 is my favorite volleyball lens (depending on the venue). At high schools with a balcony or an arena, I love the shot where I get a largely unobstructed view of the face of the spiker. It also can give a full face shot of the back line returner. This venue had weak lighting so I had to shoot at ISO 6400 and because the walls were a fairly dark blue, the white balance and exposure changed as I got closer to the side wall. Light cycling was also an issue.
