Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro lens, these are now down to £99.95 at jessops camera shop UK (online).

Has anyone some advice for me on the above lens, i've seen one, tried it on my camera nad though it was very good.

For the price.. it looks very attractive with the £70 OFF from the normal RRP.

I'm using a Eos500d... btw

The lens isn't very good and it doesn't have VC (Tamron's version of IS) which might be needed at long ranges.

I'd recommend spending a little extra and getting a Canon 55-250mm IS, it's much better and has IS to go with it.

I had that lens and sold it soon after, i ended up getting the 55-250 mentioned above the IS really does help a lot. I now have a 70-200 L usm and crave the IS version.

cheers, my thoughts about it not having were
1. a fast shutter speed or ISO would counter balence not having it
2. tripod could be used too.

I'll have a look at the Canon, see if I can get one second hand at a god price
