Looks really nice, I think you have also captured a meteor on the lower right. :)

Nice shot, and very cool time lapse. I'd love to try that one of these days. It's too bad the light popped on a couple times in that cabin... ;-)a

The image quality is nice!! what size frames did you shoot?
I have a bunch of dead pixels as well..in after effects you can make pixels clones from another area
and position them so the motion is just ahead of dead pixel...hope that makes sense.
keep it up!!
cheers

Thanks all for the comments. Darrin, boy that sounds very interesting. I shot in sRAW 5.5mp to conserve space and make processing a little less heavy. Basically my work-flow is import into LR crop(16:9)/lens profile/EV/color SNYC ALL and that's it, then export as 16bit tiff with resize to 1920 longest edge. Then I made a ps cs5 action to bring in each tiff, add dark layer and layer difference blend mode and then run noise-ware pro and finally sharpen and save as final jpg to process folder. Then I use Virtual dub to render image sequence to avi at 15fps, then sony vegas edit to 1280X720p 29.97fps MP4. The layer difference to negate the hot pixels mostly worked but gave some weird dust-spec-like anomalies that actually made me go back and change the action to save as 16 bit tiff again and then use LR to import these and manually clone out each offending anomalies (dust-like-specs) with the spot removal tool...very tedious. And even then, after this work, you can still see my spot-removal actions if you look close.

I've used AE for some simulated slow-motion stuff but I would be interested in knowing how to do this motion-clone type of fix you mention. The issue, as you know, is that the clone/spot fix can bring in a near-by star that really shouldn't be there.

I'm just getting started and shot jpeg - med...3500px so I can get near endless frames..
but all my timelapse prior has been 1 frame per sec..3-4k frames
this movie is different..10 sec shots with 4 sec intervals -up to 20 sec..testing..
I then layered the sequences..applied effects, curves, etc..didn't expect much on this first test..http://youtu.be/5tWnqqeJx4M (external link)

For the pixel clone its easy..comp your layers to a new flat comp..make a duplicate/clone of layer1..add a mask and make the mask real small and position on top of bad pixel...masking pixel..now select mask/not comp and move just in front of the pixel -before any direction of video motion- now you have the mask around and area just aside from the dead pixel..select the comp this time and click it back over the dead pixel feather as needed. You can motion track and more if need be..try it.. pretty easy..I'll be around if you have questions.
cheers

Darrin,

Thanks for the information...I'll try to research this technique on youtube etc. Good thing is that I still have all 590 raw files to tweak on and learn from.

Watched your time-lapse...nice with the panning effects. Did you use a dolly or just added it in post?

This video used motion camera head..HD video system..and all these moves were done in post.

The system I'm building..has camera dolly on tracks..(PVC unlimited distance)
originally for tracking boats, working great for motion control.. and a full size Jib arm (lifts 25 lbs with camera head - 20'). This modular rig will be used for many types of productions. Yet to test it all working together..but not far off now. Its very portable and I'm hoping the price point will be reasonable. Just getting prices on my fabricated parts has been a pain..Starting custom circuit boards soon.

I've always worked with frame sequences in after effects..now you have me wondering if RAW file format is supported..almost every PP can be emulated in AE and then scripted.

Hand tweaking every frame sounds tedious..unless its for national geographic etc..
Roll up your sleeves and give it a try..not that hard.. : )
let us know how it works??
cheers
