So now its 960px?

Nope, it's still 720. Not sure what people are talking about. I uploaded a photo to my profile this morning (670 pixels wide) and I downloaded it and it's still 670. I downloaded 2 friends' recent photos and both are 720 pixels on the long side. They just changed from a black background (better for viewing a photo) to a blah white/opace background.

hmmm, maybe its limited for now. it worked for me today, and they look tack sharp. I used exactly 900px and 960 is the limit.

Well for a while now you're able to uploaded photos as big as 2048 pixels on the long side yet that size won't be displayed (only 720) but the 2048 pixel file will be downloaded when clicking the "download" link on a photo that was uploaded as "hi-res" instead of standard.

They will not enlarge what you up load. So no, your 620 will not magicaly become 960. However if you uploaded a big picture before it will now be displayed at the new larger size. ... If this feature has been rolled out to you.

Sorry but I'm not seeing it. Maybe it's slowly being rolled out to different users a little at a time. I even went to a photo that was uploaded as hi-res (2048 pixels on the long side) did a screen capture and cropped the photo displayed and was still 720.

It is but it now displays larger when you click to view. At least it did last night for me. Can't use FB at work.

thanks...good to know.
i noticed on my last upload to FB, that there were compression artifacts that i normally did not see. i use the LR to FB exporter from jeffrey leidl. normally pics are resized to 720. i'll try to resize to 960 and see how that looks.
