I like it. You can feel fall in the air.

A snapshot with clouds resembling smoke rising into the air.

I'm not sure what the subject is here. I don't see the cabin referred to in the title. The center tree draws my eye. However, you cut off the bottom and added too much sky to balance the treatment of the tree. Was it the mist? If so, that's a challenge. Sometimes one sees an interesting setting and can't find a way to capture it in an effective image. Even if you spend time studying point-of-view and camera settings, it's just not there. This may be the case here.

Joe you are right, I should have explained the photo more : I took this in the early morning at my Grandfathers cabin, years after he passed away. This was the last morning I would witness at his cabin, it has since been sold.

Given the surrounding area this shot was the only clean shot I could get. There were some powerlines and the cabin itself. Also standing on the bottom of the hill looking up didnt help the perspective.

I keep wanting to see more of the scene. Especially down at the bottom, it's disturbing that my eye is being drawn down there, but there is no focal point, it just abruptly ends.

May have been more powerful to pull back and show the surround area. You cut off some trees on the edges of the frame that are kind of distracting as well.
