in the first 2 photos

There use to be a few houses there. And you can see what there is now
There use to be a few lawns and drive ways. Now just mud holes that sank about 10 feet down at its lowest point
right infront of you use to be a road. now only partially exists (the other lane being behind me)

Doubt if there's many in Vermont who thought that Irene was over-hyped.

Thanks for sharing these. From what I can see on TV, Vermont may have had the most severe flood damage. It looks awful in many of the towns I've enjoyed visiting, such as Montpelier, Queechee, Woodstock, Bennington, etc. Our thoughts are with you.

glad you're safe. I saw a buddy I knew in elementary/middle school on the news in Va. Beach and reporter was asking why he was in the ocean and he just smiled saying he's been through a few of these before. Mother Nature should definitely not be screwed with.

Pretty hard to accept a land locked state as well as other new england states and upstate NY being effected to such a degree by a hurricane. Skied many of the mts in NY and Vermont over the years. Many are still without power, been through it myself with back to back hurricanes in a two week period. It was as if a bomb went off.. My thoughts are with you..
