But in 12 MP mode there is no additional detail, just like in the case of Fuji S3/S5.

Huh? Are you thinking of Foveon? The EXR sensors are perfectly normal, they just reduce their resolution in EXR mode. Sep 02, 2011 09:18 | #50 The more I look at this the more I want one, I am going to wait and see what Canon has to offer in the G series but I would be shocked if its more then a few minor tweaks to the G12. Also I want to see some sample photos and find out if it performs as well as advertised but considering what I want in a smaller camera this has all the basic specs I am hoping for. Website

Remember when they are talking about bokeh, the comparison is cameras like the G12 and XZ-1 r maybe even a DSLR with a kit lens. It's not meant to be a competitor to an 85L. Taylor

I think that's sexier. But I'm still not getting one though, at least not for ~$600. My Gallery

I'll be closely comparing this to the S95 successor when it is announced (rumored to be about 2 weeks away). The design hits all of my buttons - I can't wait to see how it performs. 30D | X-Pro1 | X10 | Q

If it takes off like the x100 that may be a LONG time. It's been a year and it still sells at full MSRP (or above) and still sells out fast. Taylor

Yeah, at first I was going nuts because I wanted one so bad. But then the reviews started trickling in and I decided I didn't want one after all. I feel the same way about the X10 but if I have to wait, it might be a blessing in disguise. But so far, it sounds so nice....oh gosh!

Something my wife could use, easily, and I when I don 't drag my dSLR around. If it's as good as I hope it is, I'll pay $600. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
