Howdy peeps :) bw!

Last weekend i was shooting at the local tracks with my beloved 70-200 2.8L IS.
When i let this setup rest it hangs on the side of my body, the problem is that i bumped the buttons(since they aren't flat) a few times witch made the lens switch is mode, enable MF ect.

But i managed to see the problem at location so for the rest of the day i tried to make sure that i've used the correct settings.

But when i'm looking trough my pics i've noticed a drop in keeper ratio and i'm curious if that's caused by my clumsiness bumping against the buttons on the lens or my lack of photography awesomeness on that particular moment. :D

FOR THE FAST READERS...
Question:
Is there a way to know the lens settings that where used in a particular shot?
I'm mainly interested in the IS-mode and IS-enabled exifdata.
(i've used exiftool (external link)) but that program doesn't show that particular kind of information.

Are the lens settings even recorded in the exif info?

Different Exif Viewers show different information.
But Most shot the basic information, and when it comes to the lens information that's usually just the Lens, focal length and aperture. However some will also show which AF Mode used E.g. One Shot, AI Focus, AI Servo, or Manual Focus.
DPP Is one that shows the AF Drive mode info. It also shows AF Points.
I have yet to see a Exif Viewer that shows whether or not you had the IS Enabled.

If it’s in the meta data Phil Harveys ExifTool will show it.

"... it is the mother of all EXIF utilities; the BFG of meta-data extraction; the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster of EXIF tools ... This thing will suck the last bit of metadata out of whatever image file you throw at it!"
- Open Photography Forums

"ExifTool makes every other EXIF reader (and writer) than I've seen, including the camera manufacturers' readers, look lame."
- photo.net Nikon forum

"In my experience, nothing but nothing is as complete, powerful, and flexible as Phil Harvey's exiftool ... I've never seen anything that's in the same ballpark for power."
