Took this shot a few weeks ago... and really liked it. Would rather have had bat contact with the ball... but... my timing wasn't that good. Shooting through the chain link fence at an angle wasn't the easiest either.

IMO your shot is much better than one you'd have gotten if the bat were on the ball. The problem with a bat-on-the-ball shot is that you'll get the top of the batter's helmet rather than her face if her eyes are on the ball when it makes contact with the bat as they should be.
