Hi,
Im going to Valencia in November for the Moto GP and i was wondering if anyone has shot there?.
I ll be in the stand on the main straight above the pits ( not the best place for shooting i know), from what ive seen on videos of the circuit im a little concearned at the distance from the stands to the track, should i be looking for a 100-400mm lense or would i get away with a 70-300mm?

Any advice would be greatfully recieved,

Martyn

Never been, but its a small'ish circuit, so a 400mm lens should get you shots of the action, the only thing you'll have to worry about is safety fences and standing up on race day to take the shots, especially if your in the stands, the spanish don't take too kindly to people blocking their view, perhaps get you shots on the practice and qualifying days' definitely be less people to race day and check out the link to the circuit, there's also a virtual visit guide. Reading up about getting to the circuit and knowing how mad the Spanish are about MotoGP, it seem most recommend taking the train to the circuit from Valencia rather than taking the car and get there early.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Hi pete,

Thanks for the great link the virtual visit was brilliant, i have an apartment in Valencia so will be using the train to get to and from the circuit so will be going early.
A few people have mentioned the crowds so i ll be using the practice and qualifying days for getting my shots (hopefully), i ll also be there for the 2 test days aswell and im hoping it will be a lot less crowded so i can move around a bit and get some good shots.

Thanks again for the advice

Martyn
