I was wondering whats a better monopod setup
The 561BHDV-1 or a 501 head with Manfrotto Legs?
Any other suggestions?

The 561bhdv comes with essentially the 501 head... but a 501 with plural "legs" would be a tripod. A tripod and a monopod are definitely apples-and-oranges. Gear List
