Manfrotto Monopod Question

I was wondering whats a better monopod setup for DSLR video.
The 561BHDV-1 or a 501 head with Manfrotto Legs?
Any other suggestions?

Both are extreme overkill for DSLR video in my opinion.

I would suggest that you look at the Manfrotto 128RC mini fluid head and a tripod such as the Manfrotto 055XProB. You may want to put a 438 leveling head under the 128RC to simplify leveling the 128RC (avoiding the need to make tiny adjustments to the tripod leg lengths).

Get a Manfrotto 498RC2 ball head for general-purpose still photography as well. It uses the same quick-release system as the 128RC head.

Thanks. I actually like that setup, but the only thing is I have a 501PL plate on my camera and on my Glidecam. Is there anything comparable in features and price as the 128RC?
I wish they made a RC version of the 561.

The 685B looks very appealing too.
