Reviving an old thread rather than making a new one, I have a question for any quantum users. My flash head on the Quantum rotates fully around and is not stopped (like the 580ex2 or other flashes). Instead of the flash head stopping while pointing back at me, it continues to rotate, making a 360 degree angle into a 720, etc.

Is this how the flash is manufactured, or did my stop somehow break and now is busted?

Thank you.

My Trio goes 180 Anti-clockwise and 150 clockwise. Maybe the Basic is different, but i suggest not winding the head around too much.

Yeah, thats what mine did until there was a little pop and it kept rotating. I sent it in to Quantum for 2 repairs (that and LCD) but they only fixed the LCD)

Can you EMail Quantum for their straight answer, then send it back if needed? If only limited turning is normal, wires will rip out if the top is gone.

I have emailed them, and am waiting for them to open again on January 3rd. What you mentioned was exactly the problem I was worried about.

Just FYI, the head is not supposed to keep turning (which is what I thought). I am sending it back so they can fix it.
