Funny you should mention that. It was brought up over on Flickr, and I fixed it. It looks much better.

Sep 03, 2011 16:47 | #5 Triple A wrote in post #13046551 Wow. That is incredible. What was your set up? Thanks. The setup is a little involved... but I'll give it my best shot. I am using a Stop Shot to control everything, including an electronically controlled valve. This shot was set up using 3 consecutive drops. The liquid in the marriotte siphon was blue colored water thickened with Guar Gum. The water in the drop tank was purple colored water with Jet Dry added. The tank is a custom built 1" deep 24" x 12". For lighting this shot I used 4 Yongnuo YN-560 strobes all fired together by the Stop Shot using PC Cords. 2 of the strobes were on the sides of the tank at roughly 3 & 9 o'clock. There were 2 additional strobes mounted above the tank pointed down. All strobes were set to 1/64th power. If you have any other questions, please let me know... I'll try my best to answer. -Jim

In this case, there were actually 3 drops. If you want to see the effect in action (video), there is a youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoQ0DQpwwHU -Jim

After watching the video link and understanding what goes into making the shot, I'm really not sure what to say. It becomes mesmerizing to watch and your mind starts to race on what else you can do.
