T2i Prime time

Please help. I am getting a monster paycheck next week, and It is time for some new glass! After buying a nifty fifty I have learned that zooms are overrated, and that i am a prime junky. Every possible choice I research seems to have it's own strengths. I love my nifty fifty, but on my crop body, it is a bit too long sometimes (most of the time). I also have the kit 18-55IS, and 55-250IS.

WHAT PRIME NEXT?! I have been looking primarily at Sigma 30mm, Sigma 28mm 1.8, Canon 28 1.8, and sigma 24mm 1.8

can anyone help me narrow this down? It seems that 24mm might be logical to fill the gap in focal length, and plan on 100mm in the near future. I know this post is rambling, but everytime I think I have found my next lens, someone recommends one of the others in the pictures thread. HELP!

You probably can't go wrong with any of those primes. I'm familiar with the sigma 30mm and canon 28mm. Both are nice. One other point, are you using your kit lenses to represent the limitations of zooms? Because that would be a mistake. Primes win in the speed and IQ areas for sure, but you've got considerable room for improvement with your zoom collection.

i know my zooms are rubbish, but after seeing the IQ and shooting with speed most zooms just wouldn't cut it for me. my spending limit will be 700

the 35l looks really nice, but would it be a bit too long to balance my lens selection?

I think I am leaning towards the sigma 30mm. Although it is closer to my 50 than I would like, I really like the photo's it's capable of.
Should I get this and add a 24mm later?

I have no experiment with Sigma 30mm and I can't tell.

Just keep in mind Sigma 30mm only works on crop camera from what I read.

I love my sigma 30mm, one of my all time favourite lenses. You really can't go wrong with it.

I like my Canon 35f2. It is sharp and has fast and accurate AF. If I wanted to shell out lots of money and didn't mind the weight, I'd go for the L version.

X_Tan, you live in a beautiful city.... I was there for vacation last August and awesome....!

Btw, I love 24L II, need to save every single penny for this lens!

I suggest you'd consider a used 24 F/1.4L Mk I in that case.

The difference between the Mk II and Mk I is really mostly in the edges, which you won't see with a crop camera.

I don't know what they are currently going for, but I would expect that you'd only have to save a little more to get one. Totally worth it.

maybe look into MF lenses, which you can find for cheap, then save for nice L glass.
