Is there any software for focus stacking while taking photos? I mean the focus point changes automatically ? (Not stacking in PC after taken photos)

The frame is always changing? Or I can't do it :( Is there any point I reconsider? DO I have to crop it after FS ?

How can I decide how many photos are enough? Is there any way?

And, after stacked, there is some blurred points which should be sharp. How can I do it?

this is about the only thing I can think of that might be what you're looking for. Normally you will have to crop a bit on every stack, but it's going to vary most of the time. You decide how many photos are enough when you feel you get enough varying depths of field with all your shots to make a decent stack. Three shots might be enough for some people , and others shoot dozens of times for one stack.

Think you can do stacks using a tethered setup and the EOS utility to control the lens focus but I've never tried it. There is no in camera auto focus stacking software I'm aware of.
When taking a series of shots for focus stacking the FOV will change slightly but any focus stacking software should resize each image to match. You should be able to work out any focus increments from a DOF calculation (see http://liewwk-macro.blogspot.com …d-dof-you-have-while.html (external link) ) and then allow about 50% overlap of the DOF bertween shots.

Magic Lantern (external link) for some canon DLSRs, and CHDK (external link) for the powershots adds focus bracketing and other features to canon cameras.

Even on a camera with built in bracketing like the sx40, I'd rather use the mods for bracketing since canon limits bracketing to three frames while ML/CHDK lets us choose how many brackets to use.

+1 for magic lantern. No need for any extra hardware, everything is done inside the camera and it even writes a script for enfuse to use when stacking. It's got a bunch of other cool features up its sleeve too. Trap focus, motion and sound triggers, multi-frame hdr bracketing, time-lapse sequencing, realtime on screen hyperfocal info, ect...
