Thanks for sharing these - it's always great to see images from the Cove!

How recent are these? The apparent age of the fawn makes me think these were taken quite some time ago, perhaps early/mid July? Have you been there more recently? See any mature bucks in velvet when you were there last?

Tom .... Good to hear from you. The new born fawn image was taken on 8-19. A very late birth for the cove, many are born in late June, the rest typically in July.

All the bucks are in velvet and look great this year ... big and healthy, should be starting to shed their fuzz any time now and then on to the early sparring.

I live in Maryville, so I am in the cove all the time .... last time was on Saturday.

Bob,

Wow - that means that the doe was bred in mid-January! It's cool to know that there are still a couple does coming into estrous that late in the winter.

Glad to hear the bucks are in good shape. Do you have any recent images of bucks you remember from previous seasons?
Is the one-eyed buck still around?
How 'bout the heavy 11 pointer?
Seen the big Cable Mill 10 pointer yet this summer?

I hope you have much fun & success as you continue to shoot in the Cove!

Nice photos. I went out there a couple weeks ago and all we saw was a turkey.. All the animals were hiding. Some nice buildings and stuff out there though.
