Keep saving.

The 55-250 has flooded the used market, you will always be able to find one at or near this price (for the foreseeable future)

Consmetic changes only, optically/internally it's exactly the same.

The lens barrel now has a white square painted on (for lens/body mount reference) instead of the white plastic (raised) square the Mk I has.

The Mk II ditches the sliver colored zoom length ring for a black one.

That's all.

Keep in mind that you will need to pay tax and shipping if you order direct from Canon. I think the cheapest shipping option they have is 16 bucks.

Agreed -- especially after the latest bundle deals (external link) get you the 55-250 for effectively $27... lots of BNIB "never opened" available in the used market too.

Great deal. While Im certainly no pro, I've taken some of my best shots (both portrait and tele) with this lens.

It is a fantastic lens, and it was worth the 200 I paid originally. 150 is a bargain price for a lens like this, in my opinion.
