So I sold off some old equipment, and surprisingly have $1,000 to play with. So here's what I was debating:

1. Get a 5Dc as a second body. I shoot sports with the 7D, but also use it for casual/personal stuff, so was thinking of a 5Dc as a second, but also as a FF to use for the other stuff.

2. Sell my 70-200 Mk I and combine the cash for the MK II. I think I have enough glass to suit my needs, so I don't want anything additional, but could see the benefits of upgrading to the MK II.

Thoughts??

Thanks in advance.

Ken

Sell the 70-200, buy a used/refurb Mk II, use the remaining money for a mirrorless body?

Huh?? I could sell the Mk I for about $1,400, and when adding the $1,000, that's $2,400. If I buy a used/refurb MK II, which would be the route I would take, I would probably spend roughly $2,100 or so, which leaves me with only $300.

What mirrorless body are you talking about?

(and by the way, I wouldn't call your 500px "weak", those are nice shots!)

Heh, thanks...I still think it's weak!

There are plenty of mirrorless body options that you can get used under $300. You can get an E-P1 or E-PL1 for less than $200, a GF1, E-P2, or E-PL2 for around $300, and probably a NEX-3 for around $300 as well. I myself just bought a new Samsung NX100 with kit lens for $309. That particular camera is stupidly cheap on the used market right now.

Of course none of these is FF and certainly won't fulfill any wishes on that front!
