I just got Meike grip for my 60D and it also has a nice built and fit nicely.
It doesn't report the battery information at first because of stuck contact point with the battery. After I nudge it up, it works ok now.
I also have the OEM Canon grip for my 5D2 that cost me $250 back then. I can't complaint about a $39 grip for my 60D.

I have had my grip for a week now, and I am loving it.

Excellent investment!

I can highly recomend this grip for other 7D users.
