I am not sure it is "BETTER" it is certainly more expensive. I dragged my heels at buying the "real" Better Beamer and waited until I found one used on eBay.

BYW: they don't pop up on eBay very often.

More expensive, wont fold flat. Since they sell just the lens http://www.harbordigitaldesign.com …placementfresnellens.aspx (external link) it might make for a great DIY project.

wont fold flat.

Hmmm, I'll have to look for some tests and reviews. The better beamer does a great job throwing light across a football field for 400mm and 600mm, but if the performance is comparable, I think I'd like the stubbier more sturdy look of this Harbor Digital one.

any new info on this?
Im looking at getting a flash extender with my new flash.
I dont mind the extender not folding flat as it should be faster/easier to put on the flash in a hurry.

the better beamer says 2-3 stops better and the harbor digital says up to 2 stops. Hmmmm
Thanks

after using this flash extender for some time now I will give my thoughts.

1. it works very well.
2. its pretty sturdy.

however, it is bulky and therefore I forget it sometimes as it doesnt fit in my backpack. So no matter how well something works, its useless when you leave it home.

if your bag is big enough, this is a good extender with ZERO set up time which is very nice.
if your bag isnt big enough, perhaps get a better beamer as they fold flat, or buy a bigger bag.

im looking into options to hang from my backpack to put this in. like a lens case or something.
