Garrr,

So my beloved 4.5 year old 180L has decided it doesnt want to AF anymore.

I just get it alternating spastically between either the full range or the restricted range and never stops when its in focus.

I dropped it off at the my local camera shop who are going to pressure Canon into a free repair due to its immaculate condition (they guessed it was under 2 years old!)

Anyone had similar experiences or such? Just so i can have a ballpark figure on how much this may cost?

I had the AF go out on a 100-400 a few years ago. It was $380 back then but they replaced the whole unit. If there is only one part that failed on your lens it could be less but figure at least $200.
