Did a thread last year posting the best images from the 2011 chase season. There weren't a lot of photogenic structured storms this year, but I got a few nice tornadoes which made the year worth it. Contrary to what the public would believe, this storm season was largely a drag, in terms of good storms in chaseable terrain (i.e. flat horizon, no trees, etc...) Alabama is not an area any chaser would want to chase in, unless they lived there or have a lot of money, or are on a TV show. In the real tornado alley (Texas north to South Dakota) There wasn't a ton of action this year. Also note that the Joplin tornado was in really hilly/forested terrain as well, not that I would have wanted to be there when that happened, because I'm glad I wasn't. It's just inevitable that someone will comment saying this year was a good year for chasing, when in reality it was not at all. It was the worst year (probably ever) for tornadoes to hit populated areas, not a big year for chasing. I missed the only real plains "outbreak" this year on May 24 in Oklahoma due to car troubles, but I got a chance at redemption on June 19, and 20 which made the whole season. I guess I'll just post the top 5 from the year and if you want to see more check out the "chase page" on my website... http://www.tonightssky.org/chasereports.html (external link)

Great stuff Tyler, that Bradshaw tornado was incredible. Couldn't ask for a better one to chase!

Sick pictures! I think if I was still living in the South, this would be what I would shoot. Keep up the great work.

All very nice shots but #3 really appeals to me. Wonderful capture.
