This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new editing tricks.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I have posted a picture, re-sized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Otherwise, this photo was taken from the camera as is and unedited by myself.

The game will last 7 Days and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #383."

Ends on Thursday, Sep. 15, at 8 pm BST.

Cloned out most of the most of the human clutter, removed some clouds and tried to creat a storm approaching look, adjusted the contrast and brightness, and used curves to change colours slightly, then sharpened

IMAGE: http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp49/dougle/POTN/manplays.jpg

Made a new document, created dirt layer, grass layer, blended dirt and grass, cut out player to a layer and blended with a little masking, didn't make the grass/dirt document wide enough so I selected, flipped, patched and added brightness and contrast. Cropped and saved.

Well - overwhelmed with choice this week ...

Thanks to those who participated and here goes :-

T3 Heavy Shop - my main reason for shooting this one was the musician but you shopped him so to speak
vasbyt - ah! the lady vanishes! Some white bits left around the ramparts that spoilt your entry a bit.
Douglas - he was a better musician than that - even the cows and sheep have disappeared but I love the crop
08photog - a version that amplifies the dedication of the street musician - playing into the night - I like it so you are this weeks winner - over to you!

Thank you for your comments, massive learning curve and the most work I have ever done on a pic. looking back I can see the white bits and it's the fine detail that trips you up
