I am thinking about a CPL for my 17-40 to be used on a 7D. Anyone had any experience with the Hoya HD CPL with this combo - is it any good?

Hoya polarizers have a propensity to come apart unexpectedly...plenty of threads on this very topic...do a search and they'll come up. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Just a couple of threads on this issue in the last week or two alone... Seems that its a roll of the dice, which is all the more reason to avoid them. Sep 09, 2011 18:21 | #13 I have an expensive Hoya and a cheapie Kood 77mm polarisers - both work just fine - no appreciable difference that I can see, or more importantly that my printer can't see! Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).
