So... I guess the planets were all aligned properly, I ended up taking a chance and emailing New Hampshire Motor Speedway to ask for even just a limited garage pass because I want to start motorsports photography (which I do...), and somehow they said they would give me a cold pass, so I am VERY excited!!!

Was wondering if anyone had any tips to share about what to expect and such.

I am going to bring my 7D and keep the 70-200 with extender attached, for shots during the race, and maybe long shots in the garage area if needed, and I am trying to get a used 5D Classic and will use my 24-70 on that. Was also going to keem my 10-22 handy.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!!

The race cars have the right of way. If you get run over, it's your fault.

It's a cold pass, so he probably won't have to worry about cars moving under their own power in the pits. At least that's how I understand the hot vs. cold pass thing at Cup races nowadays. It's still a good idea to pay attention and make sure you stay out of the crew's way.

If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem.

Oh yea, I definitely will. It was VERY nice of them to grant me this opportunity, so I will play by the book, which is what I always do anyway. Being a huge NASCAR fan, it's going to be tough to not get caught up in the excitement of seeing and meeting everyone there.

Give Jimmie Johnson a swift kick in his rear bumper if you get close enough and tell him to keep his pie hole shut.

On shooting sports...If you see it happen then you didn't get it.
