Interesting... that PL1 seems like a good camera for easy carry.

Rebel T3i/Tamron 17-50/50 1.8/55-250IS/Rokinon 8mm

Would love to hear some advices, comments.

Judge image quality yourself at http://www.imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM (external link)

Example: Compare the colors and degree of detail visible in the house landscape photo at http://www.imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM (external link) between the T3i, 5100 and the small, inexpensive $349 Olympus PEN E-Pl1. Surprise! The Olympus beats them both by delivering more detail and life like colors. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …E_PL1_Digital_Camera.html (external link)

And the PL1 makes video in mpeg format so it uploads directly to Youtube and looks good without having to first edit using a complicated and expensive video editing program like the T3i and 5100 need.

GEE THANKS I REALLY NEEDED THAT' hahahah, well thank for sharing the website, I will look more into it!

The Olympus makes real nice pics.....But I prefer my Rebel

Handbrake, which is free, can convert the video into another format. Since I work entirely with HD video and burn directly to BD, MPEG is an inefficient extra step for me.

Back to the OP - leaving the IS on when on a tripod with most Canon Lenses (maybe the newest ones have a tripod detection, not sure which models might), causes what is in effect a feedback loop in the system. The gyroscopes detect the slight shock as the correction action the lens is taking moves the optics, and then it tries to correct for that, and back and forth, until it essentially goes nuts and causes the image to blur.

Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM
Other Stuff: 430 EX II, Luma Labs Loop 3, CamRanger

Alright, I will do some testing, thanks for the tip!
