Wind-blown channels on a sand dune at Khongorin Els, in Mongolia's Gobi Desert, the golden sand appearing almost vermilion red in the late-afternoon sun.

3-shot panorama taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.

I think it looks great. You have a slight graduation in the sky from dark blue to light blue. CPL? Cloning?

Neither - it's because of the ultra-ultra-ultra-wide effect, equivalent to a *horizontal* (not diagonal) field of view of around 140 degrees (equivalent to a 7mm or so lens on full-frame)!. Naturally, some parts of the sky appear brighter than others, due to the position of the sun.

Sky is little distracting from the beautiful colors of the foreground. Not a lot but just that difference in blue color draws my eye a little. Still an A+ shot.

Easily correctable in post-processing, but I decided not to - I thought the contrasting sky added to the photo rather than detracting from it.
