This was my first church wedding all summer. It was a little strange not using flash again! It's been a loooong time since I couldn't. I also love that the bride and groom both decided to wear their glasses for the wedding. Neither of them wear contacts at all and glasses are more "them" so I never asked for them to take them off. C&C is, of course, always welcome!

I understand this is a sneak peak, but photographers typically show their best or at least some of their best, so i'm going to critique as if it were your favourite shots. First wedding back for the season is tough too.

1. Nice enough portrait, the angle makes their shoes look a little big and their heads look a bit small.
2. Nice silhouette. Can't see their faces. This shot says to me "they walked up the aisle in a church"... nothing else.
3. Yep, definitely a church...
4. He's either touching her face tenderly or slapping her while some people do something on the right. I guess you were limited as to where you could stand, if so you need longer lenses and more photographers to get more angles so you don't have to move too much.
5. Reasonably well executed stock shot. WB is a bit cool. Nice sky. Best of the bunch.
6. A fun, silly shot. The wide angle lens makes the guys hands on the right look big, not too bad though. The angle is interesting, just shows the background I guess, though it's nothing really interesting. This is the only photo with any emotion, but it's just people being silly, not the type of emotion we're really looking for on a wedding day.

7/8 I can't see, i'm on a limited net connection.

Overall this is basic, non creative wedding photography that shows nothing about the couple and has no emotion. The basics are fine, exposure's good, and WB is generally fine. There's no interesting scenes or locations, no interesting lighting, and really doesn't even approach any boundary or test any limits.

This is really uncle Bob territory. If you want call yourself a professional you have to massively lift your game.

I'd comment below as usual but my stupid iPad won't let me scroll down.

First of all, thank you for your comments! Finally, something constructive.

1. I was torn on this one. I have a bunch of edits of it, straight on, at the lower angle but straight, etc. I wanted to get opinions of this angle specifically so thank you! The feet do look big.

2. This one was more for the church then the b&g. The priest and I had a long conversation about how she needed a nice church shot that didn't show faces for their website. The bride loved the idea, hence why this was one of the first edits. There are, of course, more shots of her walking down the aisle that shows her face.

3. But it's a pretty one, right. :P. I don't get church weddings often. Do you feel this would help or hinder me from getting more? As much as I love beach weddings in Mexico we have a 4 year old living with us now and a baby on the way. I want to stay home more. I was always told that if you show it, more will book.

4. If he was slapping her this wedding would've been way more interesting! I was limited. This was a DW of sorts and my associates had a wedding the same weekend that I felt needed the 70-200 more then I did. A second shooter would've been nice but they didn't pay for one and I didntmhave anyone who could work it for free. Do you think a tighter crop would work better?

5. Thank! This is my least favorite. :)

6. Again, I have 50 angles of this shot. This one is "different" for me. It was a long conversation about the difference between jazz hands and spirit fingers where I was just shooting away.
