So I just started playing around with HDR effects and the whole concept of HDR and just would like some feed back from people more tuned to using the effects. So I have two images for you to look at.

The images do not line up correctly, too much processing resulting in poor colors, ghosting and over saturation. I would tone it down abit.

I would tone down the saturation on the first ... but in a way I kinda like it, because it loos like a painting or drawing or something - very different!

These make me think of images from a children's book. They just don't look real anymore... More like drawings.

Are you aiming for the surrealistic look? If so then I see nothing wrong with them. But if you are asking for personal opinion, I would tone down the blending a little bit. What software did you use?

I've never been fond of photographs, that don't look like photographs.

For me, they just look like illustrations.

Sorry, not working for me. Too overcooked, IMO. There should be some general requirements when posting HDR pics for a critique: (1) The OP should state the goal of the pic (natural vs. "out there") when posting to avoid the getting the same repetitive comments and (2) state if the image was created from three or more in-camera bracketed exposures or created from a single exposure.

That is the style I kinda aimed for, I was tryin to go a little bit over the top an out there but I go back to the image and retry the blendin for a more natural look, Thanks for the advice.

unless you want the ridiculous over-saturated, confusing look, then I'd say it's definitely overdone. This is the main mistake made by people starting out doing HDR. Keep it looking more real and HDR will be more beneficial.

I was trying to go for the painting/drawing look by over doing the effects, I'm glad you like it.

Ill go back and retry it but, my overall goal was to get the image looking that way and it looked different and cool but ill try again, thanks for the advice.

If that was your goal thats great! You did it then, and don't take what we say as how it's supposed to be done. It may not be a terribly popular look, but if you love it, keep rocking it.

I believe the term is 'over cooked'.

Maybe burnt to a crisp?

But hey, all my opinions are mine, mine, mine.

A little too much HDR.
But whatever suits you should work with you!
