Thank you all for the comments. I've been 'playing' with different setups for the past three weeks. I've only got a chance to shoot these once a week, so this is third time experimenting. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 70-200 f/2.8 lens. If I owned a macro lens I would probably use it instead. These are extreme crops from the original shots. I shoot at or around f/16. The lighting is still a work in progress but as soon as you realize that you can really take a picture of water, only the reflection off or refractions through it, then the sooner you understand how best to try and light something like this.
