I am looking for a quick access bag for a 400/5.6 with 7D attached. I will be taking when out on my cycle so must be able to put over the shoulders when riding. I was thinking of the Thinktank Digital Holster 50 v 2.0, anyone used this combo and will it fit? or could you recommend something else.

Have you looked at the Lowepro Toploader AWs :) ?

Edit: had forgotten the 400/5.6 was so large !

Looks a nice bag but the 50-500 is a fair bit shorter than the 400/5.6 I think although it looks like the 400 will fit if you use the extension option on the access 18 - just wonder about the protection as the extension bit is not padded.

I put a padded strip into the bottom when I extended it out.

The 400mm is very close to the same length as the 50-500 without its hood.

Owning both a holster 30 and 50, I would recommend to ungrip your 7D and go with the 30. It's more practical when you like to take it on your bike.
I have taken both a few times on my bike(containing body + 100-400), which is do-able when biking in a relaxed mode just getting from a to b. If you intend to go mountainbiking, I'd be looking more into backpacks.
