Watermarking I dunno when I tried them both I feel like Zen feels nicer than Smugmug...then Julain told me yesterday that you can add Watermark on each Folder. so you don;t have to add any watermark while exporting on LR. I am not sure if Smugmug have this kind of feature too.

AFAIK you don't have much privacy with 500px... its doesn't even have a private gallery like Flickr. for those kind of stuff its either Zenfolio or Smugmug.

if I were you, I would check out if Smugmug or Zen loads faster in your area or not... from what I remember speed of these two is location dependent. some location SMugmug is faster while on others Zen is faster.

for the most part these two are like Canon and Nikon, different but end result is almost the same
